Description

Creamy, garlicky, and packed with tender chicken, this Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta is a high-protein, comforting dinner that’s perfect for weeknights or meal prep. Every bite features perfectly cooked pasta coated in a rich parmesan sauce, seasoned chicken, and optional fresh vegetables for added flavor and nutrition.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 12 oz pasta (linguine, fettuccine, or penne)

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Optional: 1 cup spinach, peas, or mushrooms

  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta: Boil in salted water until al dente, reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.

  • Prepare the chicken: Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sear in olive oil or butter until golden brown, or bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes.

  • Make the sauce: Sauté garlic in olive oil or butter until fragrant. Add cream gradually, then stir in parmesan cheese until smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.

  • Combine everything: Toss pasta into the sauce, add chicken, and mix gently. Fold in optional vegetables. Use reserved pasta water to loosen sauce if needed.

  • Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and extra parmesan. Serve immediately for best flavor.

Notes

For extra creaminess: Add a splash of pasta water when mixing the sauce with noodles.

Protein alternatives: Swap chicken for turkey sausage, shrimp, or chickpeas for a different twist.

Meal prep: Store in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat gently with a splash of cream.

Vegetable boost: Spinach, peas, or mushrooms can be added during the last 2–3 minutes of cooking for color and nutrients.
