Description
A refreshing, naturally sweet frozen beverage made with fresh watermelon, lime juice, and a touch of honey. Perfect for hot summer days and ready in just 5 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh watermelon, cubed and frozen
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
- 1/4 cup cold water or coconut water
- 6–8 fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Cut fresh watermelon into cubes, remove all seeds and rind, then spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- 2. Add frozen watermelon chunks to a high-powered blender along with lime juice, sweetener, and cold water.
- 3. Start blending on low speed to break down the frozen pieces, then gradually increase to high speed.
- 4. Blend for 30-60 seconds until smooth and slushy, using a tamper to push ingredients toward the blades if needed.
- 5. If the mixture is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- 6. Pour immediately into tall glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves and watermelon wedges if desired.
- 7. Serve right away with straws for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
Best consumed immediately after blending. Can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks, but will need to be reblended before serving. The sweetness level can be adjusted based on your watermelon’s natural sweetness.
