Ingredients
1 (10 lb) whole turkey
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
2 tsp poultry seasoning
1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 large onion, quartered
4 sprigs fresh rosemary
4 sprigs fresh thyme
2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Pat turkey dry inside and out.
Combine softened butter, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper; rub under and over the skin.
Stuff cavity with onion, rosemary, and thyme. Tie legs and tuck wings.
Place turkey on a rack in roasting pan. Pour chicken broth into pan.
Roast 1 hr 15 min or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste every 30 min.
Rest 15 minutes before carving. Serve with pan juices or gravy.
Notes
Turkey alternatives like roasted chicken or lamb shoulder can be used. Adjust cooking times accordingly.
