Description
Refreshing, tangy, and a little surprising—this Tomato Lemonade is perfect for summer days or anytime you want a drink that’s both healthy and delicious. Follow this simple recipe, and you’ll have a glass full of vibrant flavor in no time.
Ingredients
3 medium ripe tomatoes – choose sweet and juicy varieties for natural flavor
½ cup fresh lemon juice – about 3–4 lemons, freshly squeezed
2–3 tablespoons honey or sugar – adjust according to your taste
2 cups cold water – sparkling water can be used for a fizzy twist
1 cup ice cubes – for serving
A few fresh mint leaves – optional, for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash and chop the tomatoes into quarters. Remove any stems and ensure they’re ripe and juicy—this will make your lemonade naturally sweet and flavorful.
2. Blend Until Smooth
Place the chopped tomatoes in a blender and process until smooth. You’ll get a vibrant red juice—the base of your lemonade.
3. Strain the Juice
Pour the blended tomato mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a large pitcher to remove seeds and pulp. Straining gives you a silky-smooth drink, though leaving a bit of pulp is fine if you prefer a thicker texture.
4. Add Lemon Juice and Sweetener
Mix in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey (or sugar) to the strained tomato juice. Taste and adjust sweetness to achieve the perfect balance of tangy and sweet.
5. Add Water and Chill
Pour in cold water (or sparkling water for a fizzy version) and stir well. Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes to chill and allow the flavors to meld beautifully.
6. Serve with Ice and Garnish
Serve your Tomato Lemonade over ice cubes. Garnish with fresh mint leaves or a thin lemon wheel on the rim of the glass for an attractive and refreshing presentation.
Notes
Use fresh, ripe tomatoes for natural sweetness and vibrant color.
Adjust lemon and sweetener according to your personal taste.
Chill before serving for maximum refreshment.
Try adding a sprinkle of chili, basil, or cucumber slices for a creative twist.
