Ingredients
1–2 teaspoons matcha powder (ceremonial-grade preferred)
1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
2 tablespoons sugar (or sweetener of choice)
1/4 cup hot water (around 175°F or 80°C)
1 cup milk or dairy-free milk (oat, almond, soy, etc.)
Ice cubes (for iced version)
Optional: whipped cream, extra strawberry slices for garnish
Instructions
Make the Matcha: Sift 1-2 teaspoons of matcha powder into a small bowl. Add 2 ounces of hot water and whisk until frothy and smooth.
Make the Strawberry Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the strawberries and sugar with a splash of water. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until it becomes syrupy. Strain to remove pulp.
Assemble the Latte: In your serving glass, pour 1-2 tablespoons of the strawberry syrup. Add the matcha mixture and pour in your milk of choice.
Finish the Drink: Stir gently to combine. If making an iced latte, fill the glass with ice cubes before adding the milk. Top with whipped cream or extra strawberry slices if desired.
