Shaved Frozen Peach Dessert

  • Author: David Tag
  • Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe peaches, peeled and halved

  • 23 tbsp honey or maple syrup

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt or whipped cream

  • ¼ cup granola or chopped nuts (optional, for topping)

  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Freeze the peaches: Place halved peaches on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 4–6 hours until solid.

  • Shave the peaches: Using a microplane or box grater, carefully shave frozen peaches into delicate icy strands.

  • Flavor the shavings: Sprinkle shaved peaches with honey or maple syrup, lemon juice, and cinnamon if desired.

  • Serve immediately: Layer shaved peaches over Greek yogurt or whipped cream. Top with granola or nuts for crunch.

  • Optional baked version: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place shaved peaches in a small baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon and a little honey, and bake for 8–10 minutes until soft and fragrant. Serve warm or chilled.

  • Garnish: Add mint leaves for a fresh touch before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, combine shaved peaches with other frozen fruits like berries or mango.

Shaved peaches melt quickly, so serve immediately for the best texture.

Can be made into a peach crumble by topping with oats and baking as described above.
