  • 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 34 fresh jalapenos, deseeded and finely chopped

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)

  • Optional: ½ cup cooked turkey bacon or chicken sausage, finely chopped


Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Set oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Prepare puff pastry: Unfold sheets on a lightly floured surface. Gently roll to smooth creases and make slightly thinner.

  • Mix filling: In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. If using, fold in cooked turkey bacon or chicken sausage. Mix until creamy and even.

  • Assemble twists: Spread the filling evenly over the puff pastry sheets, leaving a small border around edges. Cut each sheet into 1-inch strips. Twist each strip a few times and place on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Apply egg wash: Brush each twist lightly with the beaten egg to give a golden finish.

  • Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.

  • Cool and serve: Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm as a snack or appetizer.

Notes

Can add turkey bacon or chicken sausage for extra flavor. Adjust jalapeno spice to taste. Make-ahead options available.
