Ingredients
2 sheets puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3–4 fresh jalapenos, deseeded and finely chopped
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Optional: ½ cup cooked turkey bacon or chicken sausage, finely chopped
Instructions
Preheat oven: Set oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare puff pastry: Unfold sheets on a lightly floured surface. Gently roll to smooth creases and make slightly thinner.
Mix filling: In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. If using, fold in cooked turkey bacon or chicken sausage. Mix until creamy and even.
Assemble twists: Spread the filling evenly over the puff pastry sheets, leaving a small border around edges. Cut each sheet into 1-inch strips. Twist each strip a few times and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Apply egg wash: Brush each twist lightly with the beaten egg to give a golden finish.
Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Cool and serve: Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm as a snack or appetizer.
Notes
Can add turkey bacon or chicken sausage for extra flavor. Adjust jalapeno spice to taste. Make-ahead options available.
