Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded hash browns (thawed)

  • 1 cup cooked sausage, crumbled

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 large egg

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 12 tablespoons oil (for cooking)


Instructions

  • Mix: In a large bowl, combine hash browns, sausage, cheese, egg, and seasonings. Stir until everything is evenly coated.

  • Shape: Scoop about 2 tablespoons of mixture and form small patties or “bites.”

  • Cook:

    • Pan-Fry: Heat oil in a skillet over medium. Cook bites 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

    • OR Bake: Arrange on a greased sheet and bake at 400°F (205°C) for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway.

  • Serve: Enjoy warm with your favorite dipping sauce or alongside eggs, fruit, or toast.

Notes

Press out moisture from hash browns for extra crispiness.

Swap in turkey or chicken sausage for a lighter version.

Add diced peppers or onions for an extra flavor boost.
