Description
Creamy, flavorful, and topped with golden crispy onions—this green bean casserole is a must-have side dish for holidays, family dinners, or anytime comfort food is on the menu!
Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and blanched (or 2 cans, drained)
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or dairy-free alternative)
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions (or turkey bacon bits for a twist)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, and black pepper.
Fold in blanched or canned green beans until evenly coated.
Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle half of the crispy onions (and cheese, if using) over the top.
Bake uncovered for 25 minutes until bubbly.
Remove from oven, top with remaining crispy onions, and bake an additional 5–10 minutes until golden brown.
Serve hot as a delicious side dish for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or weeknight dinners.
Notes
Blanch fresh green beans to preserve their color and crispness.
For a lighter version, use a low-fat cream of mushroom alternative or Greek yogurt.
Add roasted nuts or caramelized onions for extra flavor and crunch.
