Dessert Chips and Fruit Salsa

  • Author: David Tag
  • Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

For Dessert Chips:

  • 23 flour tortillas (or whole wheat for a healthier option)

  • 23 tablespoons melted butter or olive oil

  • 23 tablespoons sugar (or skip for no-sugar version)

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For Fruit Salsa:

  • 1 cup strawberries, diced

  • 1 apple, peeled and diced

  • 1 kiwi, peeled and diced

  • ½ cup blueberries

  • 1 cup mango or pineapple (optional for tropical twist)

  • 1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice

  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, skip for no-sugar version)

    Optional Toppings:

    • Drizzle of honey, agave, or melted chocolate

    • Shredded coconut

    • Chopped nuts

    • Yogurt for dipping

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chips: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut tortillas into triangle wedges. Brush with melted butter or olive oil, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon (if using). Bake for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp. Set aside to cool.

  2. Prepare Salsa: In a bowl, combine all diced fruits. Add lemon or lime juice and honey/maple syrup if desired. Mix gently to combine.

  3. Serve: Arrange chips around the fruit salsa or layer in small dessert cups. Add optional toppings like yogurt, shredded coconut, or a drizzle of honey.

  4. Tips: Keep chips and salsa separate until serving to maintain crispness. Chill salsa in the fridge for 20–30 minutes for a refreshing twist.

Notes

For a tropical version, include pineapple, mango, or papaya.

For a no-sugar dessert, use only naturally sweet fruits and skip sugar on the chips.

Perfect for parties, picnics, or family gatherings.
