  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Cream Cheese Swirl:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional Toppings:

  • Fresh berries (raspberries, strawberries)

  • Chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans)

  • Powdered sugar


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan and line with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, stirring well.

  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet ingredients.

  • Pour half of the chocolate batter into the pan.

  • In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over chocolate batter.

  • Pour remaining chocolate batter on top. Use a knife to gently swirl the cream cheese layer for a marble effect.

  • Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the chocolate part comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  • Let cool completely in the pan, then lift with parchment paper and cut into squares.

  • Optional: Top with fresh berries, nuts, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
