Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt
Cream Cheese Swirl:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional Toppings:
Fresh berries (raspberries, strawberries)
Chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans)
Powdered sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan and line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, stirring well.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet ingredients.
Pour half of the chocolate batter into the pan.
In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over chocolate batter.
Pour remaining chocolate batter on top. Use a knife to gently swirl the cream cheese layer for a marble effect.
Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the chocolate part comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Let cool completely in the pan, then lift with parchment paper and cut into squares.
Optional: Top with fresh berries, nuts, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
