  • Author: David Tag

Description

These Crack Green Beans are a quick, crowd-pleasing side dish made with canned green beans, soy sauce, butter, brown sugar, and turkey bacon. Baked until sticky, savory, and caramelized, this 5-ingredient recipe delivers an irresistible sweet-salty flavor that pairs perfectly with any main course.

Ingredients

Scale

(Serves 6–8)

  • 4 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, drained

  • 5 slices turkey bacon (or beef bacon), cooked and crumbled

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • ⅔ cup light brown sugar, packed

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder.

Assemble: Place drained green beans in a baking dish. Pour the sauce over and toss to coat evenly.

Top: Sprinkle crumbled turkey bacon on top.

Bake: Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the beans are tender and the glaze has thickened.

Serve: Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm as a side dish with your favorite main course.

Notes

For a lighter version, reduce butter to ¼ cup and substitute part of the brown sugar with honey.

Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.

For crispier bacon flavor, bake the turkey bacon separately and add just before serving.
