Description

A creamy, flavorful appetizer combining fresh tomatoes, basil, and garlic with cream cheese and mozzarella for the perfect party dip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. 1. Dice tomatoes into quarter-inch pieces, place in a colander, sprinkle with salt, and let drain for 15 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, beat together softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth and creamy with no lumps.
  3. 3. Fold in shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese until evenly distributed. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  4. 4. Add drained tomatoes, chopped basil, and minced garlic to the cheese mixture. Fold gently to combine.
  5. 5. Drizzle balsamic vinegar and olive oil over the mixture and fold until everything is evenly incorporated.
  6. 6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.
  7. 7. Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle with additional olive oil, and garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
  8. 8. Serve with toasted baguette slices, pita chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Drain excess liquid before serving leftovers. For best results, add tomatoes no more than 4-6 hours before serving to prevent excess moisture.
